Jagged cliffs, gentle coves and a wind that tugs wildly at your hair. Cornwall is as unpretentious as it is unvarnished, and perhaps that is precisely why it provides such a striking backdrop for love stories. A journey through Earl Grey, gin and goosebumps.

It is already dark by the time we reach the coastal village of Tintagel. Yet the roar of the waves crashing against the rocks below gives us a glimpse of the stunning seaside scenery that awaits us at breakfast.


When you think of romance, you quickly picture rose-tinted glasses and heart-shaped cupcakes, soft music by candlelight and beds strewn with roses. But there is another form: a romance that sweeps you off your feet and goes to your head, that pulls you passionately towards it and briefly pushes you away, only to draw you even closer. A raw, wild devotion, such as you encounter on this remote corner of England, which never ceases to enchant with its heroic sagas and love stories: Cornwall.
