An evening without scrolling, sharing and social media? Brit Ben Hounsell organises parties at the first ‘Offline Club’ in London.

The first impulse comes two minutes after you step through the door. Previously, the path led down the stairs next to the Church of the Martyrs in East London into a crypt that is now a bar. Here, the view swept through the room: blue-painted bar, quirky paintings, small wooden display cabinets and velvet wing chairs. Cute shabby chic, you thought. The photo will definitely look good on Instagram. As if of its own accord, the hand reached for the right back pocket of the trousers.
But - and you almost have to laugh in shame as your fingers reach into the void - that's not possible.
